Wine Volta di Bertinga 2019 was included in the top 10 best wines of Italy according to the biggest Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. It has received 99 out of 100 possible points. This year, the annual rating of “100 Best Wines and Winemakers of Italy” was assessed jointly with one of the most influential wine critics, James Suckling (ex-Wine Spectator, own rating jamessuckling.com).
The Bertinga farm was created in 2014 by Maxim Kashirin and Anatoly Korneev (founders and owners of Simple Group). This is not their first award; in 2021, Gambero Rosso named Volta di Bertinga 2016 «the best Italian merlot.» But to be in the top 10 with the third vintage of Volta next to such legends as Masseto, Barbaresco Rabaja from Bruno Giacosa, Barolo Brunate from Roberto Voerzio, according to the Italians themselves, is the highest achievement.
